Helmeted Honey Eater: | The Helmeted Honey Eater is critically endangered. Numbers declined from a counted 167 birds in 1967 to a low of 50 birds in 1990. There has been a steady increase since 1990 to just over 100 birds in the wild in 2000. In the 1998/99 breeding season, there were 20 breeding pairs in the wild. By sponsoring this group we wish to help increase the number of these beautiful birds, who in 1971, was chosen as Victoria's bird emblem. It is the only bird endemic to Victoria. |

Clean up Australia Day: | On the first Sunday of every March, Australians from all walks of life can be found removing rubbish from our beaches, parks, roadsides, rivers and bushland. Hundreds of thousands of people collect unsightly and polluting rubbish from our fragile environments. Clean Up Australia Day is firmly entrenched in the Australian environmental calendar and as an apolitical, non-profit community effort, Clean Up Australia Day is an event in which everyone can participate.
